Epfop Keyword: stock photo keywording on your desktop

A desktop program for stock photographers. It writes titles, descriptions, keywords and alt text straight into the metadata of your photos, and you decide what it may change.

You decide what changes

Many keywording tools send a photo to an AI and paste back whatever comes out. Epfop Keyword works the other way round: you set the rules first, and the program follows them.

  • For each field (title, description, keywords, alt text) you choose: skip it, fill it only when it is empty, or replace it. Keywords can also be merged with the ones already in the file.
  • A preview run shows every result before anything is written to a file.
  • Hints for a batch: give the place, the people or the ideas the AI cannot see in the photo, and it uses only what fits each image.
  • Commercial or editorial mode. Editorial captions say what, where and when, as agencies expect.
  • Photos that need a second look are flagged, and you review the whole batch on one results screen.

You choose the model and see the cost first

The program uses your own account with the AI provider, and you pick the model in the settings. Before a batch starts it estimates the cost, and afterwards it shows what each photo and each run actually cost. You pay the provider directly, only for what you use.

Difficult photos can go to a second, stronger model for a second opinion. You decide how often that happens, or switch it off for the lowest cost.

One set of metadata for every agency

The program writes IPTC and XMP fields inside the file, within limits that are safe for Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Alamy, Dreamstime, Depositphotos and Getty Images / iStock at the same time. Agencies read these fields on upload, so there is no separate CSV file for each of them.

Camera data is never touched: camera, lens, date, GPS and exposure stay exactly as they were. Every write is recorded in a local log, with each field before and after the change.

Places only when they are certain

A landmark is named only when it is clearly recognisable, or when the GPS position stored in the photo confirms it. The program reads that position offline. It does not guess a city from the style of the buildings.

A program on your computer

Epfop Keyword is a desktop program for Windows. Your photos stay in your own folders: only a reduced copy of each image is sent to the AI model you chose, to be described. It remembers which photos are done, so a second run on the same folder skips them.

Questions about Epfop Keyword

Is there a free version?

Yes. Without a licence the program describes up to 10 photos, and for those you do not need your own AI account. After that it needs a licence, for 1, 5 or 10 computers. Licences are on keyword.epfop.com.

Does Epfop Keyword overwrite the keywords I already have?

Only if you tell it to. For each field you choose skip, fill only when empty, or replace. By default new keywords are merged with the ones in the file, and alt text is written only where it is empty.

Which stock agencies does it work with?

It writes IPTC and XMP metadata within limits that are safe for Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Alamy, Dreamstime, Depositphotos and Getty Images / iStock at the same time. These agencies read the fields from the file when you upload it.

Do I need my own AI account?

Yes. Epfop Keyword uses your own account with the AI provider, and you pay the provider directly for what you use. The program estimates the cost of a batch before it starts and shows the actual cost afterwards.

Do my photos leave my computer?

Your files stay in your folders. To describe a photo, the program sends a reduced copy of it to the AI model you chose. The GPS position in the photo is read offline.

Does it change camera data such as date, lens or GPS?

No. It writes only the title, description, keywords and alt text fields, and every write is recorded in a local log with each field before and after.

In which languages can it write?

It writes titles, descriptions and keywords in English or in Polish, chosen in the settings.

Which computers does it run on?

It is a desktop program for Windows. A licence covers a set number of computers. Details are on keyword.epfop.com.
